The Northwest Psychology Practice and COVID-19
The coronavirus outbreak has brought rapid changes to the ways we live and work. However, we want to reassure you that we are still here and ready to provide you with support and assistance. At the moment we are providing a combination of both face-to-face and telehealth services depending on the needs of our clients.
Face to Face therapy
Psychologists are considered essential services and we are able to see you in our clinic. If this changes in the future we will let you know. For people coming in to the practice to see their psychologist, we are doing everything possible to make sure we provide a safe environment:
- We are now sanitizing our clinic multiple times a day
- We are all following good handwashing practices
- We have made changes to our office space to ensure appropriate social distancing
- We ask that only people attending the session come to our offices because we have limited space in our waiting room.
- Please observe social distancing and practice your own excellent hygiene.
- Please stay away from our clinic if you or a family member has flu-like symptoms, if you have recently travelled from overseas or if you suspect you may have come in contact with a COVID-19 case.
Telehealth therapy
We are offering therapy via videoconferencing or telephone for those who need it, where clinically indicated. All you need is a device which is camera/audio enabled with an internet browser, a good internet connection and a quiet private place. Research has shown that for people with a variety of presenting issues, teleheatlh can be just as effective as face-to-face treatment. If you are interested in receiving treatment via telehealth, let us know.
Our promise to you
Throughout the challenging months ahead we will continue to provide therapy and support to our clients and the community.
