Back to school!

As the school holidays draw to a close, lots of kids have mixed feelings about going back to school. They may be excited to see their friends and to embark on their new school year… or they may be stressing out about who will be in their class and whether they will like their new teacher. For many kids school is not a fun place – perhaps they struggle with friendship issues or have learning issues. As parents we also have mixed feelings – happy to get back into the routine of school, but missing the relaxed vibe of holidays. If your kid is really struggling to return to school (for whatever reason), we’re here to help. We help children with anxiety, friendships, learning issues, and behaviour problems. We think that every kid should have the best chance at a happy school life.

Spring has sprung!

The weather is warming up, the birds are singing and the flowers are in bloom. And changes are afoot at the Northwest Psychology Practice. Two wonderful clinicians, Vanessa and Elayne, have both gone on maternity leave in recent months. We’re excited for both of them as they spend time getting to know their beautiful bubs. And this means, of course that we are now looking for some new psychologists to join our team. More information about that here. If you’re interested, please send a CV, and we’ll talk.

And the new year begins…

Happy new year! We hope that you have been enjoying the holiday season and have had time to kick back and relax. Perhaps you have also been reflecting on your achievements in 2015, and on the things you want to be different in the coming year. What are your hopes and dreams for 2016? Whether it is working on your relationships, being less stressed and worried this year,  helping your kids with their issues or living a life that is more in touch with your values, we are here to help you get there. Give us a call to book in a session and get things kick-started.

Farewell Clare!

Our wonderful psychologist, Clare Martin, is leaving us on the 11th of January 2016. She is taking up a new exciting job opportunity and we wish her all the best in her new endeavour. But on behalf of both clients and colleagues – we will miss you!

Season’s Greetings

At this festive time of year, we want to say a big thank you to all the clients we have worked with over the past year. At the Northwest Psychology Practice we have seen about 700 clients, both kids and adults. It has been great to work with all of you! We wish you joy and happiness as you navigate the challenges of Christmas. The practice will be closed over Christmas and will re-open on the 4th of January. We look forward to catching up with you in the new year.
